UW Sterling / Ingraham Hall Classrooms
University of Wisconsin - Madison
This 6,230 s.f project remodeled three flat floor classrooms in Sterling Hall and converted one tiered classroom to a flat floor classroom in Ingraham Hall. Three distinct collaborative learning classroom layouts were created, testing different mobile furniture layouts. A 3” high raised access floor was added in two of the rooms to accommodate power and AV wiring from the furniture pods and instructor’s stations, to the wall mounted monitors and ceiling projectors. The project interfaced with three different mechanical heating / cooling systems: new fan coil units, new fin tube radiators, and replacement of existing unit ventilators. Three of the four classrooms required the extension of chilled water within the buildings. All lighting was replaced with new energy efficient fixtures. Fire detection and suppression systems were reworked to accommodate new room layouts.
