For owner / chef Shinji Muramoto’s second restaurant, Muramoto Hilldale required a plan that was open, simple, sophisticated and contemporary. The storefront expresses a bold simplicity, with glass vitrine displays embedded within natural wood columns. The understated exterior is a vivid contrast to the market retail storefront context. The contrasting façade is a form of advertisement, the storefront is the sign. With the award-winning design in a key supportive role, Muramoto Hilldale has become one of the most successful restaurants in the region.
